How do I take a backup and restore it?
A daily automatic copy, and a manual one on a USB stick.
- From Settings → Backup, tap "Save a backup" and choose where: a USB stick, an external drive or a cloud folder.
- The file is encrypted with a key derived from your licence key: it opens on any machine of yours, and not for whoever picks up the stick.
- The automatic copy is taken once a day, a minute after launch, and the last ten are kept in a folder inside the program data.
- To restore: tap "Restore from a file", and we show what the backup holds (shop name, invoice count, last invoice date) before you confirm.
- Before replacing anything we save a copy of your current state automatically, so undoing a mistaken restore stays possible.
- Cloud sync does not replace a local backup: the cloud carries what happened, the backup returns you to what was.
